Deep-Rib Precision Mold Insert | Mirror EDM & Complex Geometry Core

This high-complexity mold insert is specifically engineered for components featuring ultra-deep rib structures (deep bones) where conventional milling reaches its limit. Designed for high-precision applications, this core ensures perfect part ejection and surface consistency in deep-draw geometries that are prone to vacuum trapping and thermal buildup.

Engineering Overview:

The primary challenge of this "deep rib" geometry is the high-aspect-ratio machining and gas venting. JST Mould utilizes a multi-stage electrode strategy and precision Mirror EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) to achieve clean, sharp corners and uniform surface finishes in areas where mechanical cutters cannot reach, preventing structural weak points and stress concentrations.

Technical Specifications & DFM Insights:

We maintain a sub-micron tolerance of +/- 0.005mm on critical rib widths to ensure consistent wall thickness in the final plastic part. To solve the ejection challenges inherent in deep ribs, we have optimized the draft angles and implemented specialized electrode compensation to account for spark gaps, ensuring the insert fits the mold base with zero-clearance precision.

Why JST Mould?

Mastering deep-rib inserts requires more than just machines; it requires meticulous electrode management and metallurgical control. JST Mould excels at processing hardened tool steels for complex geometries, delivering inserts that eliminate flash and minimize the "sticking" issues common in high-depth industrial molding.

Application Fields:

High-end electronic enclosures, automotive structural ribbing, and complex medical device internal chassis. Specifications:
